Cambridge Results Show Strong Performance by Pakistani Students in O-Level, A-Level, AS, IGCSE Exams

Cambridge International Education revealed on Tuesday the outcomes of its biggest-ever June exam series in IGCSE, O Level, and AS & A Level.

Globally, over 1. About 6 million students sat for the exams, an increase from the previous year of 9% for those who wrote the exams.

In Pakistan, there was considerable activity with over one hundred thousand students from 683 schools sitting for Cambridge examinations. The country registered more than 226,000 candidates for O Level and IGCSE and over 125,000 for AS & A Level.

Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat, Mathematics English Language, and Urdu were the most popular subjects among O Level and IGCSE students. For AS & A Level, Physics, Mathematics, Business, Chemistry and Computer Science were the most preferred subjects.

Notably Business has emerged as the most popular course this year displacing Chemistry, and Computer science has ranked in the list of the five most popular courses displacing Economics.

Rod Smith, Group Managing Director of Cambridge International Education, expressed his happiness on the performance of Pakistani students and teachers.

Uzma Yousuf, the Country Director of Cambridge in Pakistan also echoed these sentiments that students have been very hardworking and determined.

She was positive about the trends related to future-oriented subjects, which, according to her, reflect a growing concern with the future and the global context.
