The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has officially approved the recruitment of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to address the ongoing faculty shortage in public colleges across the province. This announcement aims to provide teaching support for the 2025-26 academic session, ensuring continuity of educational activities until permanent faculty are appointed.
The initiative reserves specific quotas for different groups:
- Minorities: 5%
- Persons with disabilities: 3%
- Transgender community: 0.5%
Key Details for Applicants
According to a report from various local educational websites, the duration of engagement for CTIs varies based on the program they will be teaching.
- Intermediate classes: Seven months, from October 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
- BS programs: Ten months, from October 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
This engagement may conclude earlier if permanent staff are appointed.
Eligibility and Pay
Applicants must have a minimum of a second division in a BS or Master’s degree in a relevant subject. Candidates with MPhil or PhD qualifications will be preferred. The selection process will be merit-based, considering academic records, higher qualifications, and interview performance.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend based on their teaching level:
- Intermediate level: Rs. 50,000 per month
- BS/Graduate level: Rs. 60,000 per month
The stipend will be transferred directly to the selected candidates’ bank accounts.
Application Terms and Conditions
The recruitment drive operates under several specific terms. There is no age limit for applicants. CTIs are entitled to two casual leaves per month, but they will not be provided with travel or daily allowances (TA/DA). The positions are temporary, and the selection committee can terminate the placement in case of unsatisfactory performance. The use of forged or false documents will result in the cancellation of the application and legal action.
