PITB Partners With Civil Aviation Training Institute Hyderabad for Digital Transformation

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has announced a new partnership with the Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) in Hyderabad. This collaboration will bring significant digital upgrades to CATI, marking a key step in the automation of Pakistan’s aviation sector. The agreement was made public via an official PITB Facebook post.

Under the terms of the agreement, PITB will implement two distinct digital systems. The first is a Training and Campus Management System, designed to automate and optimize the academic and administrative functions of the institute. This will help with everything from student enrollment to staff management. The second system, named PayZen, is a digital solution for fee collection. PayZen allows students and stakeholders to make payments through multiple channels, including mobile banking, ATMs, and debit or credit cards. A press release from PITB detailed that the system also provides “real-time dashboards ensuring transparency and efficiency.”

The contracts were officially signed by Ata ur Rehman, PITB Director Development and Procurement, and Engr. Sumair Saeed, Deputy DG Works and Development and Director CATI. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials from both organizations. From PITB, this included Waqar Naeem Qureshi, DG IT Solutions, Syed Qasim Ifzal, ADG, Shahid Akram Khan, Director, and Joint Directors Syed Ijlal Hussain and Muddasir Paracha. Also present from the Pakistan Airport Authority Headquarters were M. Saqib Butt, Director Finance, Arshad Ali, Additional Director IT, and from CATI, Saima Ikram, Joint Director Academics.

During the event, the PITB team also gave a presentation on integrating workflow automation and Artificial Intelligence into the aviation sector. To ensure a smooth transition, PITB will also provide continuous support and staff training at CATI for the secure implementation of these new solutions. This project is a crucial move towards modernizing Pakistan’s aviation training infrastructure.
