The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has announced the postponement of matriculation examinations across the province. This decision comes in response to the severe flooding and continuous rainfall that have disrupted life and travel for students in several districts.
The supplementary matriculation exams, originally scheduled to begin on September 10, will now start on September 29. The announcement was made by various educational boards, including the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore and BISE Faisalabad.
A spokesperson for BISE Faisalabad said, “The second annual examination 2025 will now commence from September 29.”
The move, according to board officials, was made to ensure student safety as the challenging conditions have affected students, schools, and exam centers.
A revised date sheet will be issued soon by the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen, with new roll number slips to be distributed. Students and parents are advised to check official board channels for updates.
The postponement of examinations is not limited to matriculation. The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has also delayed its written tests set for August 30 and 31. PPSC spokesperson Deputy Director Syed Kazim Muqaddas Kazmi confirmed that the decision was made to address difficulties faced by candidates travelling from various parts of the province. Similarly, Punjab University has postponed several of its written examinations due to the same weather conditions.
